New precedent source on LexisLibrary

We’ve added another precedent source from one of our popular commentary titles this month:

Stone’s Justices Manual Precedents

Where this work forms part of your subscription, you will see the new separated precedents listed in the directory, below the main work itself. This means that you can easily search and browse this precedent collection, and that searches you run on ‘All Subscribed Forms & Precedents Sources’ will return results from this title as well.
You can find these new sources by using the ‘Find a Source’ option in Quick Find. For example, search for "Stone’s" to bring up the authoritative title, as well as the precedents. It couldn’t be easier.

New Quantum section in Harvey on Industrial Relations and Employment Law

IMAGE: Harvey

Find it difficult advising on quantum for discrimination claims?

Harvey on Industrial Relations and Employment Law has the answer with a new Quantum section, within its Equal Opportunities Division L (see para [2001]ff).

Edited by highly respected employment specialists, Jennifer Eady QC and Rebecca Tuck, the new Quantum section contains case summaries which set out recent examples of recommendations and the amounts awarded by employment tribunals, in respect of heads of loss in discrimination cases, in which the tribunal is exercising a discretion. The areas covered by the new section are:

• injury to feelings
• personal injury
• aggravated damages
• uplifts

It is intended to give practitioners an idea of the factors and circumstances that result in employment tribunals. It provides summaries of the facts and the main reasons for particular awards and recommendations in discrimination cases. Subscribers are invited to submit details of relevant cases that they’ve been involved in, by way of a case note form, accompanied by a copy of the judgment. The case note form is available from the Harvey editor marina.carew@lexisnexis.co.uk

Armed with knowledge of comparable cases, you will be able to advise with confidence. Quoted by employment judges, Harvey remains the pre-eminent, comprehensive service on employment law. Can you afford to be without it?

Name change of key Tax titles on LexisLibrary

In September, Tax Data will be changing names to Tax Tables. This is to reflect the content of the online source, which mirrors our popular tax book “Whillans’s Tax Tables”, and to make the source easier to find during a search. Whillans’s is the best-selling UK tax source on current tax rates, allowances and other key data. It is known and trusted for its accuracy, allowing practitioners to quickly work out key calculations for their clients.

The name change reflects the source content - essential reference information on all the main UK taxes.

In addition, the online names for the BDO Stoy Hayward’s set of sources will be updated, please see table below for details:

Former title on LexisLibrary New title on LexisLibrary

Top tip – Acronym searching!

LexisLibrary has over 3,400 hard coded acronyms that you can input, instead of typing the full title of the UK and Scottish Acts.  This will make your life easier and retrieve results faster.

Why don’t you give it a go? Using the legislation search page or Quickfind legislation search box, type in the acronym of an Act, e.g. ICTA and see how easy searching can be. You know you’re in safe hands using Lexis legislation.
