Dear Lexis®Library subscriber,

e-burst brings you up to date with the latest improvements in your LexisNexis® online services. Some of the sources and titles mentioned below are subscription dependent, please contact your account manager or call us on 020 7400 2984 if you would like to discuss adding any of these services to your existing subscription.

New improvement to browsing results list

Following customer feedback, we’re delighted to announce an enhancement to our service when browsing a results list.  When you view a document from your results list and then go back to the full list of results, you will be taken back to the list at the point at which you left it - rather than back to the top.

For example: if you access document 57, from a list of 100 results, then return to the results list, you will automatically be brought back to number 57, instead of to the beginning. This should make browsing large results lists much easier, as you don’t have to keep scrolling from the top down.

If this source is already on your Bookshelf, don’t worry, it will still be there – the name will just have changed slightly.

You can easily find this source by typing “HMRC” into the “Find a source” option in the blue Quickfind box which appears on all practice area pages.

The Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 - update to Precedents

The Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 received Royal Assent on 12 November 2009 and is coming into force on 6 April 2010. This important legislation makes a number of changes to the law relating to new settlements and will trusts, including the introduction of a new statutory perpetuity period of 125 years, and in the case of non-charitable trusts, abolishing the statutory rules limiting the trustees’ power to accumulate income.

To reflect the changes made by this legislation, over 270 precedents have already been updated across the Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents’ Private Client and Property Practice Areas in anticipation of the 6th April. These changes will go ‘live’ on LexisLibrary on 6th April.
