These are the official reports published by the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting of England and Wales (ICLR). What you may not be aware of is that they are also held on LexisLibrary in PDF format so can be printed as direct page for page replicas of the hardcopy set! You can access The Law Reports PDFs by clicking on the PDF icon in the toolbar of the Law Report you’re looking at – see diagram.

You’ll also be pleased to know that the popular CopyURL functionality which enables you to bookmark documents and searches from LNB is also available on the Law Reports! When you click on the CopyURL delivery option on a Law Report, you will have the option to select the Word or PDF version. This means that you can easily create a link to a PDF version of a Law Report.  Quick, easy and useful – this is going to save you time and effort!

Halsbury Awards

The Halsbury’s Awards recognise outstanding service in law libraries and legal information services in Great Britain and Ireland.

Organised by the British and Irish Association of Law Libraries (BIALL) and LexisNexis, these are the only awards to recognise the value of dedicated teamwork within legal information services. There are awards for both the commercial and non-commercial sectors across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The awards are chosen by a panel made up of senior BIALL officers, LexisNexis representatives and the chair of BIALL’s Awards & Bursaries Committee and will be presented at the BIALL Annual Conference on 10th June 2010.

Give your team or chosen legal information service the recognition they deserve. Nominate them at http://www.lexisnexis.co.uk/halsburys-awards. Entries close on 15th May 2010.

Top Tip!

Much of the Companies Act 1985 has been repealed by the 2006 Act; however practitioners sometimes need to refer to the 1985 Act for historical or forensic purposes. For your reference, the 1985 Act is still available in the Butterworth’s Company Law Handbook source. If you browse the Table of Contents, then select Part I Pre-2006 Companies Legislation, you will see the top entry is the Companies Act 1985.

Top Tip!

Inland Revenue Budget Notes
Customs & Excise Budget Notes
Budget Resolutions
Budget Summary (from the Tolley Tax Editorial Team).
