What is the Legal Intelligence Network?

The Legal Intelligence Network is a venue where you and other experienced lawyers can stay up to date on legal developments and learn of opportunities to develop new skills, such as writing and delivering training. You will have access to a network of other lawyers, including others in a similar position to you and the in-house lawyer team at LexisNexis.

Who can join the Network?

Any lawyer can register to join the network. You may be looking for opportunities or something new.

If you are not currently employed (eg following redundancy or a career break) you can have free access via the Network to Lexis®PSL and Butterworths webinars. To gain access, you will need to be recommended by one of our recruitment partners. Lipson Lloyd-Jones and gmk will recommend lawyers who are out of work and have suitable legal experience.

What is in it for me if I join?

Keep your hand in while not working: stay on top of legal developments and maintain your CPD points, so you are prepared for future interviews and opportunities.

Differentiate yourself from others in a crowded, difficult and rapidly changing legal market.

Network online and in person with other members, including our own in-house team of qualified lawyers behind the Lexis®PSL service.

Develop your skills as a writer or presenter through opportunities we can provide for you on the Web and, for those that really stand out, as a contributor to our premium subscription products. From Autumn 2009, you will be able to:

• post your written work and views online to raise your own profile and demonstrate your legal and authoring credentials
• find opportunities to write for Lexis®PSL and other associated services from our Lexis Legal Intelligence suite

Why do I need to go via a recruitment agent to get free access to LexisNexis services?

LexisNexis has partnered with gmk and Lipson Lloyd-Jones to ensure that the free service benefits are only extended to the right people: lawyers who are looking for work and have suitable experience.

Why is LexisNexis doing this?

LexisNexis understands what the legal market is going through at the moment. There are very talented lawyers who are out of work, and employment opportunities are limited. By making it easier for lawyers in this situation to stay fully engaged with the profession, we aim to help equip them for their next role as we all move into a new world of legal practice.

You may already be familiar with our services and their content. Through the Network you will learn of opportunities, including the chance to write content for our online services, but there is no obligation for you to pursue this. The Legal Intelligence Network is developing following feedback from our existing members who have written content for Lexis®PSL Property.

Register your interest here. If you have been recommended by one of our recruitment partners, then after registration you will receive access codes for LexisPSL and Butterworths Webinars
