Employment

What we do
Our role is to provide you with the information you need to deliver first class legal services to your clients. We write overviews to illustrate the headline points of each of our topics. We write KnowHow, in the form of detailed practice notes, to guide you through the key practical issues of each topic, and clearly drafted precedents with drafting notes.
To make it easy to find related items, we link these to the relevant
Butterworths commentary, consolidated legislation, cases and forms that we have selected for each topic. And every week we review and analyse legal developments and send you an update by email.

The LexisPSL way
It is easy to access information on the topic you are interested in. For example, the employment contract:

  • Click on 'Employment contract' in 'Starting employment' which takes you straight to our overview. This gives a short summary of the topic
  • Click on the KnowHow tab and select the practice note you need. For example 'Hours'
  • In the practice note, the hyperlinks in the righthand column will take you directly through to relevant cases, legislation, and passages in Harvey
  • Click on the 'Return to Employment contract' link at the top of the practice note. Then click on the Precedents tab and select the document you need, for example 'Agreement - basic employment contract'. From here you can
  • View the precedent and drafting notes relating to each paragraph
  • Download the precedent in Word format with auto-numbering, save it, amend it, and print it and/or the drafting notes
  • Click on the 'Return to Employment contract' link. The Cases tab lists all the key cases relevant to the topic, as selected by our Employment
