What we do
Our role is to provide you with the information you need to deliver first class legal services to your clients. We write overviews to illustrate the headline points of each of our topics. We write KnowHow, in the form of detailed practice notes, to guide you through the key practical issues of each topic, and clearly drafted precedents with drafting notes. To make it easy to find related items, we link these to the relevant Butterworths commentary, consolidated legislation, cases and forms that we have selected for each topic. And every week we review and analyse legal developments and send you an update by email.

The LexisPSL way
It is easy to access information on the topic you are interested in.
For example, contracts:

  • Click on 'Contracts' in 'Transferring property' which takes you straight to our overview. This gives a short summary of the topic
  • Click on the KnowHow tab and select the practice note you need. Select 'What are the signature requirements for contracts'
  • In the practice note, the right hand hyperlinks will take you directly through to cases, legislation and further reading
  • Select 'Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1989, s 2'. This will take you directly to section 2 of the Act (as amended by later legislation so fully up to date)
  • Click on 'View full enactment' at the top and then 'open' at the prompt to get the complete Act as currently in force which you can then save or print out
  • Click on the 'Return to Contract' link at the top of the page. Then select from a range of cases, legislation, forms and precedents on this topic
  • Click on the Precedents tab and select the precedent you need. Say 'Contract - Mortgagee'. From here you can:
  • View the precedent and drafting notes relevant to individual clauses
  • Download the precedent into Word and print off the precedent or drafting notes
  • Click on the 'Return to Contract' link. Select the Forms tab. Click on 'AN1' which will take you direct to the Land Registry's website and the appropriate form for you to complete and save or print off
